I got an idea from another blog (besides the pumpkin spice latte cupcakes), and wondered what you thought. I like how she has "one year ago,""two years ago" and "three years ago" links at the end of each post. Would you like me to do that? Do you care? I'll try it out for the first time today.
Also, she's one of many bloggers I'd seen who have a list of related posts at the bottom of each post. I found the widget now myself, and have added it. Awesome!
Here's a list of the contestants we haven't seen yet this week:
Rebecca Anderson
James Cross
Melanie Hess
Mike Shapiro
Yesterday, Bill Tolany won his second episode. I had to have a gap today between watching today's episode and blogging on it, and I found myself thinkng I just couldn't wait. Find out why.

Bill had gotten 9 right when he found the Daily Double in '21, and we hadn't even gotten to the first break yet! Mr. Trebek said, "You're off to a great start today."
Bill 5400
Nina 800 (2 right)
Emily 1800 (3 right)
He wagered 5000 on this clue, tough even for a lifelong, practicing Catholic: "1521: The tenth pope of this name excommunicates Martin Luther with a papal bull." I can understand why Bill wagered so much, but he lost that amount. :-( Mr. Trebek said, "We'll give you a few moments to recover...." It was time for the first break.
I swept Parlez, in which you state in English the word that is French in the clue. I was sure Nina's "little breakfast" would be negged eventually on this one: "Join me for petit dejeuner, won't you?" But it wasn't. This was the last clue of the round.
Bill 3000 (7 right and one wrong)
Nina 1000 (One right and one wrong)
Emily 5600 (6 right)
Bill found the first Daily Double in the round.
Bill 3800 (2 right)
Nina 1000
Emily 7200 (One right)
Just enjoy:
Apparently no one else thought this was the scream I did - I broke my rule not to look at the boards until after I've blogged, and no one's commented on it! I don't remember ever laughing this hard at Jeopardy!, but I could be wrong. By the way, I got this one easily.
Wondering about the title of this post? Then you didn't see this episode. As you can tell since it's underlined, Farther Left Than Barack Obama was a category on the show today. So devoted am I (and so great is my ulterior motive), I'm going to publish all 5 clues. They're all PICTURES! (We're talking serious pain-in-the-butt, people. Forget about just the e-mailing. There's the pausing to take the pictures, again to type the clues, and throw in trying to keep track of how many clues people got right.) Funny that right after Bill said he's from Austin, he saw this clue in the category.
- "He has something in common with Barack Obama. Both took over their jobs from George W. Bush...and that's about it."Bill got it right.
- "The pres is seen here with this man, leader of a close ally."
- "This man lost his 1997 Parliament run, but today is the UK's top dog."
- "You may recall this governor hanging with the president. Actually in 2012, Wisconsin did not." I said "Pawlenty" til I saw "Wisconsin," and saved it in time.
- "In 2011, this man went from whip to House majority leader."I swept this category, I'll have you know.
Uh oh. Bill found the next Daily Double in Classical Literature. I sure hope I have this count right:
Bill 11800 (9 right and one wrong)
Nina 3800 (5 right and 2 wrong)
Emily 8800 (3 right and one wrong)
Bill wagered 200 on this clue: "The 'Lives' of Aristides & Cato the Elder were among those this biographer covered." Bill and I got this right. He made sort of a fake fistpump. This was the last clue of the round. The Final Jeopardy category was Foreign Currency. I thought this clue was a killer: "Iran's 50,000 rial note includes an international symbol for one of these, featuring 3 well-defined orbits." Anyone know this, without peeking? Nina and Emily were wrong, but Bill got it. He even drew a picture of it! That's how the whole day went. Nina lost 1200, Emily lost 8700 and Bill added 5700. Okay, it's official. I like this guy.
My Coryat today was 22200 (26200 without negs).
