Ryan #JeopardyVote, final answer

     Yesterday, Stuart Anderson made the ToC list with his 3rd win.
     Were you surprised when Mr. Trebek said today was the last day to vote for your favorite champ of the 2000s? I thought we had til Monday, and even the Jeopardy! site says so. Don't forget to do it, if you're voting for Ryan.

     I have to admit Samantha annoyed me from the second she jerked her head as though to toss her hair, as she was being introduced. It didn't help that she took forever to select clues because she read every word of categories and said "Ummm, I will take..." first. This coupled with the painfully slow and dull Around the World with Magellan's Crew kept us from seeing all the American Idol Alumni clues. I'd been eager to see them since this clue was tweeted this afternoon:

     I sure didn't know the answer to that one. I did get a triple-stumper in the Magellan category though (read by Kelly): "After reaching South American waters, Magellan spent the winter of 1520 in Puerto San Julian, today in this southern region."

     Stuart and Nolan negged on it.
     Gratuitous tennis clue of the day, in Here Comes 30: "In this sport the number 30 represents the second point scored in a game by 1 player." The next clue in the same category was my only neg of the round. Since I tweeted it to my representative, I have a picture:

     Samantha said the same thing. I should've waited for someone to neg before responding. This is the correct response. Samantha found Daily Double soon in A Novel Haiku.

     She wagered 1000 on this clue: "Well! Oh, Rochester!/What's that up in the attic?/It's insane up there!" She got it right.
     At the first break:

Nolan 600 (One right). This is after he was negged for apparently saying "knockingbird" (though I didn't notice the first time) on this one in A Novel Haiku: "The Finches fly free/A sweet home, Alabama/Jem of a novel." It's too bad that adjustment wasn't made before Samantha made her Daily Double wager.
Samantha 3000 (3 right)
     Samantha beat Stuart to the correct response on this one in M in the Middle: "A thick Louisiana seafood soup, y'all." Later, Nolan beat Samantha to this one in Keep Your Friends Close: "Call them 'tovarisch,' Russian for this word meaning a friend & fellow Communist." (Samantha had said in her interview that she speaks Russian.)
     Mr. Trebek gave the less-than-a-minute warning with 7 clues left. *moan*
     Surprising triple-stumper of the day, in American Idol Alumni: "Constantine Maroulis originated the role of aspiring rocker Drew on Broadway in this musical." This was the last clue of the round.

     Nolan found the first Daily Double of the round in Lakes & Rivers.

     Nolan wagered 2000 on this clue: "1,240 miles long & rich in hydro power, it's the largest river by volume that flows from the U.S. into the Pacific Ocean." The correct response crossed my mind first but I went with something else. Nolan was wrong too.
     Okay, I simply had to tweet this one to my congressman too, in Lakes & Rivers:

     Nolan got this one right. Thanks, Nolan! He found the next Daily Double shortly in Gems.

     Nolan wagered 1000 on this clue: "In Taoism, Yudi is known as this green gemstone emperor& is often depicted holding a tablet of it." He and I got this easy one.
     I was surprised this was a triple-stumper, still in Gems: "Princess Diana's engagement ring was this gem surrounded by 14 diamonds in a cluster setting." It was a costly neg for Nolan at 2000.
     I wouldn't have gotten this right if Stuart hadn't negged on it, adding an 's' to his name, in Civil War People: "After the war, this Union general known for his whiskers was elected governor of Rhode Island 3 times." I'm surprised no contestant picked it up.
     Samantha had a stinging 2000 neg before the end of the round. Three clues were left covered!

     The Final Jeopardy category was Cars. This is the clue: "Introduced as a 2-seater & later celebrated in song, it was Motor Trend's Car of the Year for 1958, 1987, 1989 & 2002." I hate this clue. The 'later celebrated in song' had me thinking they meant later than 2002. This clue stumped all the contestants too. Stuart lost everything! Nolan lost 5600, and Samantha lost 7601. Wouldn't Samantha have only had to wager 5601 to beat both Stuart and Nolan if they doubled? At any rate, Nolan then, left with 2000, beat her by one dollar. That's okay with me.
     My Coryat today was 20800 (21800 without negs).
