My Coryat for this weekend's rerun was 26800 (27800 without negs). It originally aired 12-9-11.As if I wasn't impressed enough with Ben Ingram, look what happened today on Twitter. I was confused at first, for sure. And look - he noticed I'm from Nebraska! What a cool guy.

Have I ever lined up the contestant pictures this well? No.
Mr. Trebek said today he had a "BB" question: "Who can Beat Ben?" My "BB" question is, what does it stand for in "BB cream"?
Ben found the Daily Double after answering just one clue correctly. He had started at a 600 clue, as is his custom. Mr. Trebek addressed Stacie and Beth, saying it was good news that Ben had found the Daily Double so early. Ben wagered 1000 on this clue in Flanders: "Great painters from Flanders include this man, whose work is seen here."
That's a well-placed timeline (or whatever you call it)! Ben and I got it right.
I almost guessed "piano" on this triple-stumper in Parts of the Whole: "Bait pedal, locking bar, spring." Then I said "organ" on this one in the same category: "Hammers, una corda pedal, music desk."
Stacie seemed fast on the buzzer. At the first break, but after Ben's Daily Double:

Ben wagered 4000 on this clue: "You can see the 1905 Wright Flyer III in a park in this Ohio city." He and I got it right, again.
Even Mr. Trebek teased Beth for her clue-selecting style, saying to her, "Why don't we try..." after she said it for the third time. After that triple-stumper, Mr. Trebek said, "Go ahead Beth, say it again." And she did.
Ben managed to find the last Daily Double, in It's Extinct.

Sort of a tough wagering decision. Ben chose 2000 on this clue: "From the shape of the protusions on its molars, this prehistoric mammal had a name meaning breast-tooth."
Ben got it wrong but I got it right! Mr. Trebek gave the less-than-a-minute warning then with 6 clues left. We saw all but one clue.

Uh oh...Ben's vulnerable?! The Final Jeopardy category was Authors. Here's the clue: "He quit pursuing a Ph.D. in 1926 to pursue drawing, but you might say he gave himself the degree anyway." This only took a moment's thought for me, and it was a triple-get. Stacie added 4250 (?!), Beth added 9399, and Ben added 4801, making him an 8-time champ. Ben didn't drop the poker face and release his breath until Mr. Trebek declared him the champ. Vamos, Ben!
