Body language helps out

     Yesterday, Christine Kim continued to roll with her second win. Her opponents today:

      You might remember Marissa as the girl who was trying to raise funds for her trip to tape the show. I'm proud to have recognized her name, but Andy told me before the show aired here that she mentions it in her Trebek interview. I also asked him if she won. ;-)
     By the way, I realized I didn't include a picture I should have in yesterday's post. Since I bothered to take it, I'm adding it now.
     Like yesterday, the scores weren't shown before going to the first break. I'm blaming Trebek because I want to.

     He wagered 2000 on this clue: "This World Heritage site just southeast of Charlottesville was built between 1768 & 1809." I got this (I've been there!), but Andrew was wrong.
      I wouldn't have minded seeing all of Thoughts from the Commissioner.

     Marissa found the first Daily Double of Double Jeopardy in I Am a Man of Science!

     Marissa wagered 1000 on this clue: "He didn't carry a blue security blanket when he won a chemistry Nobel for research on the nature of chemical bonds." She knew the reference but not the last name. I got this.
     Andrew found the next Daily Double, in 1980s Cinema.

     There was one clue on the board after this, and Trebek had given the less-than-a-minute warning. I'd have gone big here, even though I didn't know "Terms of Endearment." Andrew wagered 400 on this clue: "For the funeral scene in this 1982 biopic, the production co. placed ads for 400,000 extras in Delhi newspapers." I got this, and so did Andrew. But this was the last clue of the round.
     The Final Jeopardy category was Medieval Literature. This was the clue: "Characters in this epic 4,002-line poem include Count Ogier, Duke Thierry & Archbishop Turpin of Reims." I couldn't hear what was going on at this point because of the deafening fire alarm in the hall. I've never heard that noise and I about jumped out of my skin. It's so bad I've put earplugs in! Choir practice in half an hour is sounding more and more appealing. I've gotten my hair done anyway and would like to show it off. Next time around, I'm dyeing it red!
     Anyway Christine was wrong and lost 3399! Marissa was right nd she added 2000. Andrew, arms crossed and with a shrug, was wrong. He lost 6001.
     I didn't track my Coryat today, but I'll get back on my horse soon. And praise God, the ToC list remains untouched.
