Andy here with the last recap of the week!

Today's players: Evan Perkins, Verna Kale, and John Schultz!

J! round categories:
CLASSICAL MUSIC...ON BANJO!
GOOD MOUSE KEEPING
GREEK LETTERS TODAY
COACHING IN THE NFL
THE "URT" LOCKER
THIS ONE'S FOR THE LADIES

It looked like Verna had a great deal of difficulty ringing in over the first fifteen clues; she didn't even get in once!

Scored at the first break:
John $3,200
Evan $1,800
Verna $0

Evan's family went to the 1980 Summer Olympics -- in spite of the boycott -- and brought back a whole bunch of Soviet memorabilia! This includes a Soviet Life magazine which talks about how safe Chernobyl is!

John wears a pink shirt every Friday! Yes, he was wearing one today!

In case you were wondering -- yes, the CLASSICAL MUSIC...ON BANJO category did have the William Tell Overture. Evan did very well in that category!

GOOD MOUSE KEEPING $400 had the Daily Double; Evan played it on clue #26, just after the minute-to-go signal! Scores:

John $5,200
Evan $3,400
Verna $2,400

Evan bet a full $3,400! His clue: From the Latin for "little mouse", these body parts are so named as their movements under the skin resemble mice. Evan went for "arteries" and fell to $0.

Two clues went unplayed; scores after the J! round:
John $5,200
Verna $3,400
Evan -$400

DJ! round categories:
FAMOUS FIRST WORDS
PUNCTUATION
ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETARY
MOVIE TITLE ADD A LETTER
YUKON
DO IT

I quite enjoyed the YUKON category!

DO IT was a category that should be answered "How do you?". Of course, the contestants failed with that conceit.

I went 5/5 in MOVIE TITLE ADD A LETTER: $2000 was "1997: A janitor at M.I.T. solves the problem of a woven fabric used for trousers"

FAMOUS FIRST WORDS $1200 had the first Daily Double! John played it, with scores at:

John $13,200
Verna $11,400
Evan $2,400

John bet $5,800. His clue: In 1933 the first of these addresses began "I want to talk for a few minutes with the people of the U.S. about banking". His correct response put him at $19,000!

ARLINGTON $1600 had the final Daily Double; Evan got onto a bit of a roll before he got to play it! Scores:

John $21,000
Verna $13,400
Evan $5,200

Evan went $5,000. His clue: This man who argued Brown v. Board of Education before the Supreme Court is buried in Section 5. Evan went for Oliver Wendell Holmes and fell to $200.

Scores after the DJ! round:
John $19,800
Verna $13,400
Evan $200

FJ! category: FAMOUS AMERICANS

FJ! clue: In 1982, 72 years after his death, he became the first person inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians

Evan 200 - 199 = 1
Verna 13400 + 13400 = 26800
John 19800 + 10200 = 30000 (2 day champ, $57,600)

John will be back to defend on Monday!
