Andy here with the recap of the final game of 2013!

Being that it'll be 2014 when you see this, I hope everyone reading this had a happy New Year!

Today's contestants:

Jerry's had 3 lock games in 3 shows. Will he make it 4-for-4 today?

J! round categories:
CELEBRITIES' FAVOURITE MOVIES
IT'S A GAS... GIANT
MY NAME IS MY BRAND
I'M IN...
"DE"
NILE

Jerry made an early mistake in that he decided to give the full title of Dr. Strangelove -- that gave him an $800 neg and an $800 rebound for Reggie! We played MOVIES, "DE" and three clues in NILE before the first break. Those "Celebrity" video clues always take forever to play! Scores after 13:

Reggie $2,200 (4 right, 1 wrong)
Jerry $1,400 (4 right, 1 wrong)
Alyson $1,400 (3 right)

Jerry's mother took him to learn how to drive stick...in a graveyard, because "you couldn't hurt anybody"...

Coming out of the break, BRAND $1000 had the Daily Double, and it was Reggie's to play (even though Alyson had the best buzzer luck), scores were:

Alyson $3,600
Reggie $2,800
Jerry $1,200

Reggie bet $2,800. His clue: The copper products co. founded by this man in 1801 is still around today, but in Rome, New York, not Boston. Reggie went for Carnegie and fell back to $0.

5 whole clues went unplayed in this round! Scores at the end of 25:

Alyson $3,600 (7 right)
Jerry $1,400 (6 right, 3 wrong)
Reggie $0 (6 right, 3 wrong)

DJ! round categories:
SONGS FOR NEW YEAR'S
THE 15TH CENTURY
THAT'S OUR ISLAND
ARCHITECTURE
3-LETTER WORDS
HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN

Needless to say, with the scores as low as they were, it didn't take long for Jerry to regain a commanding lead (3 clues in Architecture were enough for that).

Also, SONGS FOR NEW YEAR'S $2000, as most clues about viral videos do, had some Internet people happy:

Some amusement from Twitter on THE 15TH CENTURY $400:

THE 15TH CENTURY $1600 had the first Daily Double, and it was Jerry's! Scores were:
Jerry $9,800
Alyson $6,400
Reggie $1,600
Jerry bet $2,200. Clue: Losing the Battle of Grunwald in 1410 in Poland led to the end of the military power of these knights. His correct response put him at $12,000!

Alyson was having luck in HANS when she came upon the Daily Double at $1600 in that category! Just the $2,000 clue was left on the board at that point! Scores:

Jerry $18,400
Alyson $8,400
Reggie $2,800

Alyson chose $5,000. Alex said "that's a good wager". I disagree.

If Alyson is wrong, she's done for. If she's right, she only goes to $13,400. She can't take the lead on the $2000 clue. She should have bet something like $8,200 - that way, she at least has a chance on the final clue to take the lead.

Back to Alyson's clue: Her grandmother told her that when she was 15, she could rise out of the sea & sit on the rocks in the moonlight. Her correct response put her at a useless $13,400.

Scores going into Final:
Jerry $16,400 (14 right, 1 wrong)
Alyson $13,400 (7 right, 1 wrong)
Reggie $2,800 (3 right, 1 wrong)

Alex mistake #2, to Reggie: "You may be an important factor in this Final". Again, I disagree. I have a feeling that Jerry isn't going to overwager here.

FJ! category: 19TH CENTURY VICE PRESIDENTS

FJ! clue: Woodrow Wilson said this man had enough genius to be immortal & "unschooled passion enough to have made him infamous"

Reggie 2800 - 2795 = 5
Alyson 13400 - 6600 = 6800
Jerry 16400 + 10500 = 26900

He's now a 4-day champion, $98,800!
